I swear for the last quarter of 2012, Kpop acts are dropping by Malaysia like crazy!

14/10/2012: Lee Hyun Woo just decided to come and meet up with 1000 Malaysian fans. Oh wait he's here to promote "To the Beautiful You"! Where's  Taejoon and Jaehee?

11/12/2012: TRIPLE CRAZY! Super Junior M is having a joint showcase (Like Naz said, why do they even need a showcase anymore?) with EXO M AND BTOB! Oh all the feels.

I'm not exactly a suju fan, and since Rachel is, I'll leave the reviews and rants to her to do since she knows more about them than I do. But can I just say...well done? I actually like "Spy" and unlike their other songs, I actually like this one. It's not too repetitive and monotonous for my taste and I find it nice to listen to.

In addition to that, I'm absolutely loving the creativity of the dance. Maybe it's because there are so many of them that they're able to pull off a sleek routine, but nevertheless, this was good. Besides "Superman", I never really fancied any of suju's songs.

Well, this is just a quickie. I'll leave the fangirling to Rachel. But here is a nice live version of the song.

I always found it hard to choose that ONE song to show my non-Kpop friends and try to 'convert' them into liking Kpop. Kpop songs (well the older ones) are still quite different from the mainstream music in US or UK, so in today's post I will try to compile a list of more....normal songs (to the non Kpop people that is) to introduce to your friends if you are trying to get them to like Kpop!

Some tips to keep in mind when you are trying to introduce Kpop songs to the beginners:
- Try to find songs without MAJOR Engrish (eg Make a love baby, IN THE CUBE). These songs are a bad idea if you have friends who act like grammar Nazis.
- Never show them the music videos. Things like the guyliners, dancing pretty boys (or girls but just mainly the boys) and tight pants take some time at getting used to. They might get mentally scarred during the first few seconds of the MV and you will lose your chance at turning them into a fellow Kpop-er.
- Try avoiding the use an SM's title song as the introductory song. SM's title songs are quite...over the top and not so usual in a non Kpop-er's dictionary. All of Super Junior's title songs were a bad idea, so were most of SHINee's title songs. I think to like these song, you need to have somewhat of a 'Kpop background'. Like take Ring Ding Dong for example. Before I was into Kpop, I thought it sounded terrible and hated it. Now that I am into Kpop, I found it somewhat normal. Weird I know but that's how it is.
-You can't go wrong with ballads. Well ballads are normally the same right, Kpop or not? I haven't heard of some crazy ballads so I might be wrong.
- Ask that person what their favourite songs are and try to find Kpop songs that are similar. I've been using this way recently and it's the most successful ahaha.

Disclaimer: The following list may not even work because I have lost all senses of how a 'normal' song even sounds like since I've stop listening to English songs (with the exception of Muse and a little Temper Trap) for nearly 3 years. But you must know I tried my best.

17. They Are Coming - Wheesung
18. This Song - 2AM
19. Without You - 2PM (This song got me into Kpop. I was so against it and this got me into it. Might be the magic potion to all conversion.)
20. I Am The Best - 2NE1

Feel like showing off a bit hehe. It's not a huge collection, just a few that I bought because of one of these reasons:
1) I like more than half the songs in the album
2) It was cheap
3) Super Junior
Some of them I had people bringing them back from Korea while the rest I bought them at Rock Corner or Speedy. If you only like the ones made in Korea, I suggest you don't buy your stuff from Speedy because they tend to have more different versions (I would get to that later on).



TADAH! So here it is, my collection so far after 3 years. Not too crazy right? :P All of them are bought with my own money excluding the U-Kiss one which was a gift from my aunt. She bought it all the way in Korea! I also have 3 second hand ones (SHINee 2009 Year of Us, B2ST Shock and SJ M Super Girl) that I bought from a friend when she was selling all her albums.

One thing though, not all of these are the original ones. And by that I mean not produced in Korea. There are a lot of albums that are either printed in Taiwan or Malaysia and I got a few of those. Before that I didn't really know and I thought all of them were the same but I don't really mind. But if you don't want to miss out on some of the photo books or photocards, buy the ones printed in Korea. I have 5 that I am sure that are made in Korea.


And to confirm whether your copy of the CD is made in Korea, just look for this gold sticker. Or compare the price. Imported ones are always more than 60 ringgit.


More than half of my collection aren't the original ones actually :P


Quite easy to tell if they are made in other countries. The price will be cheaper generally, most probably won't exceed 60 ringgit (based on the ones I got) and they have these written at the bottom.



SO yeah. That's my collection. My sister's though, is larger (and more expensive) than mine. Before I start, I'm sorry for taking pictures of your stuff. I tried putting them back in their original places. Please don't kill me. OKAY MOVING ON!

Omg I was so jealous when she got this. It was almost 200 ringgit I think but my dad got it for her as a birthday present? Wait, I think she paid half of it, not sure. But woah it was so thick and the photo book was HUGE!

Quick rant okay. SO today my sister bought Super Junior's Sexy, Free and Single Album and inside she got 2 instead of the usual 1 photocards. SO LUCKY RIGHT? Wait there is more. Guess who she got? DONGHAE and THE GROUP ONE! WADDAHECK!


So I offered to trade her Donghae photocard with my EXO-M Xiumin photocard since Xiumin is her favourite in EXO-M but NOOOO she wants to keep both of them. I've never gotten any of my favourites' photocard before (if you dont include group ones cause I have the whole 12 members group one from EXO ♥) ): And she has Sungmin and Yunho who are both her favourites from their group. Akjdnakjsndiueirb life is so unfair.

Cry (,cry can you feel the music. Is it okay if I still make T-ara references? Maybe this should be the last in case there are some T-ara haters out there) )': Not gonna give up. Maybe I should offer some cash or be her slave along with the photocard.

As you guys probably can already tell, I love ponytails. On guys. Yeah, don't judge. Not all guys though, only some guys. So yeah, here I am to show you some of my favourite ponytails in Kpop historyyyy!



Lee Taemin, of course we are going to start with this boy. He was the reason why I love ponytails! BUT! I only like his ponytail from the Lucifer era. His Sherlock ponytail didn't do it for me. Maybe cause it was a bit too long.


Then, Infinite came back with Before the Dawn and maknae Sungjong was sporting a ponytail too! After that, I was pretty sure about my love for ponytails.


I mean, why not? Look at Kim Bum. How hot does he look with his ponytail? Very. Maybe the abs helped a bit but still.



How about some Joon ponytail? Not really noticeable but it is there!


Or Sungyeol ponytail (and 6 piercings ♥)? He should've kept it. It looked so good on him ):


Jungshin's ponytail is good too. He has he best hair in CN Blue honestly (Sorry Jonghyun, I still love you ♥). And he plays the bass heyy! 


Chanyeol should keep this ponytail and this ponytail only. I hate that straight version. It's just too.......girlish.


Hongbin from rookie group VIXX is looking good with his ponytail too!

And of course, no ponytail list is complete without some Super Junior ponytails!







To be honest, this even close to half of my ponytail collection but hey, keeping it short (: PONYTAILS ♥

5. Donghae (Super Junior)
Sigh, I feel so bad for moving him down all the way to 5 ): He used to be my number 1 for god knows how long ): It's okay Donghae, you still have a special place in my heart! He was after all my first ever bias and the only member on my top 10 list that I've actually met :P
It's pretty impossible to dislike him though. I mean, LOOK AT THIS FACE! LOOK AT IT!



He looks good in glasses, KOREAN GLASSES YEHHHH (Y)


He once had a ponytail phase too! Ponytails......♥♥



Let's not forget those nice arms of his

Whoop whoop! Always liked looking at idols' tattoos. Find them really hot (JAY PARK‘S <3). Some surprises on the list tbh. I didn’t know EXO’s Kris had tattoos! And he has 2 (That we could see. Who knows what he hides under those shirts. More tattoos? Abs?)! Teen Top’s CAP as well. The heck?! It’s hugeeeee! D: And BAP’s Bang Yong Guk too! All you idols that are still hiding your tattoos, you better reveal them soon!

They really love getting piercings too. Most guys have it, multiple even! Boy, do I looooooove Hyoyeon, Tiffany and BoA’s piercings. Hyoyeon’s one is just hardcore! 14? She must have some high ass pain tolerance! And I really love belly piercing too. Just makes everything sexier. Jia has got to be real adventurous to get her lips pierced as well! More er..interesting ones like Eli’s hand piercing (It looks kinda awksies but unique nevertheless.) and Jaejoong’s belly and nipple piercing. Now when I say I like belly piercings, I meant I like it on girls. Guys? Just a tad bit weird IN MY OPINION. Sorry if you like it. Won’t judge.

I don’t care what some other people think but personally, I really like tattoos and piercings. I think I’ll probably get a tattoo (or tattoos) one day and more piercings (I think a cartilage and maybe even a belly piercing!). My parents should be fine with it..I think. Well my dad cannot disagree since he has a huge ass one himself.

Second reaction: OMG THAT CIRCLE DANCE KINDA REMINDED ME OF A DANCE MOVE FROM BEFORE THE DAWN!
Third reaction: OMG SIWON IS SPORTING SOMETHING SIMILAR TO KISEOP’S MAN BRA FROM SHUT UP!
Forth reaction: Oh dear what are they wearing…

First off, the sets. Gotta admit that I really never had a problem with rooms in all of SM’s vid. They are always quite interesting in my opinion. Well there were a few that were kinda weird and boring but the recent ones I think are quite cool! This time Suju had one abandon city-ish set with really cool red ombre lighthing and 3 other rooms sets. White wave like concave wall room, Black room with white and blue light tubes and the triangle room (with a random flight of stairs)! I found them quite awesome! Really like that wave room in particular. One thing though..wtf is with them floating members at about 3.19 mark? And those floating shapes. Whut whut whut?

Clothes. Okay I kinda have a love-hate relationship with their fashion in this vid. Those black, leather and stud stuff they were wearing in their individual scenes were just WADDAFAK! Fashion cordi must have had a thing for neck braces. Nice abs and chest, Siwon and Leeteuk. And Sungmin, nice hairband. I did like the rest however! Especially the ones they were wearing in the triangle and wave room! But I did want a bit more suits. I laike my boys in suits.

Lastly, Dance. I've been waiting for so long for this video to come out just to see how they will dance to this. Can I just say DAMN DO I LOVE IT! Can’t wait to see them perform it! MUSIC BANK TOMORROW!
Side note: Kangin does look abit awkward dancing in the MV. Hehehehe so cute though. Can’t blame him really since he was on hiatus for three years :P

Before I start this lets take a moment of silence to appreciate the fact that SM has finally steered Super Junior away from their Sorry, sorry phase.

Okay now that we are done lets continue. I started liking Super Junior around their Bonamana period. The song was catchy, beat was good, it was not bad, I liked it! Then I went back to listen to Sorry, sorry properly (Not just sorry, sorry repeated over and over again) and I was like “Ah, Bonamana is quite similar to this, SM must be trying to recreate the Sorry, sorry craze.” Then I waited patiently for the 5th album to come out and when it did I found myself going “Not again?!” I was starting to get bored of their title songs and this was bad. I honestly thought A-cha would’ve been a better title song.

For this album, I think SM has finally come to realise that Sorry, sorry was their peak and it was impossible to recreate the hype and popularity they gained. Can I just say how glad I am that Sexy, free and single is nothing like Sorry, sorry, Bonamana or Mr Simple?! Okay fine, maybe it had abit of the autotuned thing going on but this song is definitely slower in pace and shows a different side of Suju. And most importantly, they don’t repeat their song name over and over again in their chorus! I just love this song. Love it! Love the electronic kinda background tune, love Ryeowook and Sungmin’s parts where they go real high, love the chorus and I love finally being able to listen to Kangin’s voice again! Good to have you back buddy! I wont talk about the video just yet cause I haven’t watched it at the moment and I don’t want to make this post too lengthy. Rants and opinions on it shall be on another post!

The rest of the songs are also quite different from their usual stuff (except their ballads). I like how they are experimenting with different styles now. FINALLY SM, IM SO GLAD YOU DID IT! <3 Now and Rockstar are real good examples. Rockstar reminds me so much of a LMFAO song seriously! D: Butterfly I think is more like the Be my girl of Sexy, Free and Single. From U is written for ELFs and I think it’s a really nice song if you are sitting down in your living room, sipping a cup of coffee and reading the papers. Kinda give me the Sorry, sorry answer feel. Just a teeny bit. The four left (Someday, Bittersweet, Daydream and A ‘Good’ Bye) are more for the vocals. Most of them leaning towards the ballad side. Only downside this album, I didn’t really like the ballads in it which is quite surprising since I always LOVE the ballads in Suju’s album (Coagulation, Your Eyes, Storm etc).

Rating: 4.3/5

Overall, quite happy with the album after listening to all of them carefully. SM you managed to get me back into Super Junior after that disappointing fifth album!
